2) Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use Honey Talk - Random Chat (the “App” or “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.
3) Information We Collect
A. Information you provide
- Nickname you choose in the app (if applicable).
- Phone number (optional): may be collected for user verification for users in Korea in accordance with applicable requirements (e.g., Ministry of Gender Equality and Family Notice No. 2020–36). We do not use it for marketing.
- Chat content (optional): messages and related content you send when using chat features.
- Media (optional): photos, videos, and audio you upload or send in the app.
B. Information collected automatically
- IP address and basic network/device information.
- Device identifier used to operate the service (e.g., internal device ID).
- Gender (as configured/selected in the app, if applicable).
- Crash/diagnostic logs (to improve stability and performance).
- Location information (optional): only with your consent and only for features that require it.
4) How We Use Information
- Provide and operate the Service (account/session management, matching, messaging features).
- Maintain safety and enforce our policies (abuse prevention, moderation, fraud/security).
- Improve app quality and performance (bug fixes, crash analysis, feature improvements).
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
5) Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only in the following cases:
- Legal obligations: when required by law or valid legal process.
- Safety & enforcement: to investigate or take action against harmful, illegal, or policy-violating activity.
- Service operation: with vendors/partners that help operate the app (e.g., hosting or crash diagnostics), only as needed and subject to appropriate safeguards.
6) Retention & Deletion
We retain information only as long as necessary for the purposes described above, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
- Chat records: up to 3 months.
- Records related to contracts/cancellations: 1 year.
- Media (profile images/shared media): generally deleted automatically from servers within 2–3 days for privacy protection (and also deleted upon account deletion/withdrawal where applicable).
- Location information: destroyed promptly after you withdraw consent or when no longer needed for the relevant feature.
You can request deletion by using the in-app withdrawal/deletion feature or by contacting us at sunshine.seoul.1016@gmail.com.
7) Security
- We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect information.
- Data in transit is encrypted where applicable.
- Access to personal information is limited to what is necessary for operation and support.
8) Your Rights & Choices
- You can withdraw from the Service and request deletion via the in-app “Withdrawal” feature (if provided).
- You can withdraw location permission anytime in your device settings.
- You can contact us to request access, correction, or deletion (subject to applicable laws).
9) Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to children. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child in violation of applicable law, we will take steps to delete it and restrict access as appropriate.
